25 pets found new homes thanks to the "Find a Friend with Fox" pet adoption fair hosted by Fox Marquette and the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter.

All that was needed was a voucher, as Fox Marquette paid for all adoption fees.

"This event started with the passing of a great employee of Fox Marquette who was also a great friend to UPAWS.  The event is a way to honor Deb Danielson's memory.  We had so much fun doing it and we saw how much good it does and how many people are so passionate about helping UPAWS that we have continued it year after year," said Randy Norton, the General Manager of Fox Motors Team U.P.

The annual event took place Wednesday, August 24 from 3-7 p.m., but people were in line as early as 1:30 to claim their furry friend.  They could also take their voucher to the UPAWS shelter where more pets were available for adoption.

"The Find a Friend with Fox event is extremely important to our shelter, especially when the census is high.  They pay for all the adoptions and they do it out of the kindness of their hearts.  It's wonderful for the community and we are so proud to be part of their team and we are beyond appreciative," said Ann Brownell with UPAWS.

The adoption fair is also held annually at Fox Negaunee, where another 38 pets were adopted earlier this summer.
