What's New on the 2026 Subaru WRX?
Subaru has added a new WRX TR trim to top the vehicle's lineup, equipped with many quality features to enjoy a performance-based drive. Other new WRX models with manual transmission also now have driver assistance features previously limited to automatic transmission vehicles.
Performance
The new Subaru WRX offers a standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a six-speed manual standard, while you can opt for a continuously variable automatic transmission with paddle shifters, too. It's fun to handle, and you get lots of control thanks to Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive standard. You can also find that the new WRX provides ample efficiency with up to 22 miles per gallon combined on manual options and 21 miles per gallon combined with CVT automatic choices.
Exterior Style and Interior Comfort
The four-door sedan offers a quality exterior design, which is accented by the hood with its air intake, sporty side panels, and rear spoilers. Inside, you'll find that it has a stylish interior with carbon-fiber accents available, sporty seating, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and performance-inspired brake, clutch, and gas pedals. You can seat five and have trunk space, plus more room if you use the 60/40 split rear seat option.
Technology & Safety
Each 2026 Subaru WRX offers a standard touch display with a seven-inch option or an available 11.6-inch option that is vertically oriented. It comes with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ for smartphone integration, and some models offer an 11-speaker sound system to listen to music, audiobooks, podcasts, and more.
Subaru vehicles are top safety options for those in Grand Rapids, and the WRX provides you with features like forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking as well as lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
2026 Subaru WRX Trim Levels
You can find five different trim levels in the 2026 Subaru WRX lineup, which includes:
- WRX Base: features like a standard touch display, smartphone integration, and more are available on the six-speed manual with optional torque vectoring
- WRX Premium: this adds options like available 18-inch alloy wheels, and options like heated front seats, along with keyless access and push-button start
- WRX Limited: you'll find this sedition offers upscale interior seating, which includes a 10-way power driver seat, larger touch display, and a power moonroof
- WRX GT: you get Recaro performance seats and reverse automatic braking added to the full suite of Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology
- WRX TR: the new top model, this adds Brembo brakes, stiffer springs, and a tuned steering rack to give you lots of thrills as you look to maximize fun out of your WRX
